AREAS OF PRACTICE

Civil Litigation
Mr. Brendel focuses primarily on civil litigation matters involving a wide variety of issues and representative clients. Mr. Brendel has represented many governmental entities, including municipalities and school districts, throughout Northern Arizona involving claims of civil rights violations, negligence, wrongful discharge, breach of contract and other torts.

Mr. Brendel's representation of non-governmental entities has also been widely varied and has involved construction defects, negligence claims, personal injury matters, products liability, environmental issues, as well as a case involving the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) and many other tort claims.

Mr. Brendel regularly represents his clients, including many insurance companies, in all aspects of the legal system. While most cases are resolved by way of an Alternative Dispute Resolution method, i.e. arbitration, mediation or settlement conference, Mr. Brendel has represented clients as lead counsel in many jury and bench trials in Justice and Superior Courts throughout Northern Arizona and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.

Tribal Law
With Mr. Brendel's admission to several tribal courts, he has also had the opportunity to be involved with many cases involving tribal issues including insurance defense, settlements of claims by minors, debt collection matters and serving as a court appointed guardian ad litem for minors.

Prior to joining Mangum, Wall, Stoops & Warden, P.L.L.C., Mr. Brendel served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona, and was responsible for child support establishments, modifications and enforcements for Coconino, Apache, Graham and Greenlee counties.
